They had finally reached it, an altar of one of the forgotten deities. After searching the world far and while they found the traces of ancient divinities and their forgotten elements. Now, while Sara was running her hand over the moss-covered altar, she was overcome with a sense of deja-vu. She was sure that she had never been here before, this place has been abandoned for centuries after all. But still, she could not shake this strange feeling of familiarity and nostalgia. When her mind was racing to connect the dots, the nostalgia quickly turned into a feeling of dread. But before she could fully realise it, she felt a sharp pain through in her chest. When looking down, she could see the familiar sight of the tip of a sword sticking out of her chest.
"I'm sorry it had to come this far, Sara. We cannot let you get your hands on even more power. When we first met at the training camp, you were such a kind person, just trying to live in this cruel world, but still giving what you could to the rest of us. But now you have changed. The more we trusted you, the more we relied on you, the more distant you felt. Like you started to see us as pawns, not people. Like we were disposable. But the strangest thing is, you still did everything in your power to save us, time and time again. You got so strong so fast, mastered your essence and became the leader of our group, all while not even using your blessing as far as we could tell. So we grew scared, especially once you started being so obsessed with finding the ancient temples, we were scared of what would happen if you got even more powerful. So, we are sorry Sara, but your journey ends here. You can curse us all you want, resent us in your last moments, but just know that we are also just human, and in the end you almost didnt feel human anymore."
